73rd Annual Deep Pit Barbeque

The lodge hosted its 73rd Annual Deep Pit Barbeque at Lake Park on Sunday, August 3rd, 2008. That year, the Junior Warden in charge of the event was Craig Reade.

This event is remembered for an incident in which the Master (Dave Taylor) and Mike Daly launched a football into the burning fire pit. The Junior Warden that year also burned his hand trying to pick up an extremely hot stoking rod. The hand was ultimately fine, but the football didn’t make it.
